Dorothy Kesterson Sheppard, 87, of Christiansburg, VA, departed this life for her Heavenly home on September 8, 2011.
Born in Walton, VA, on February 7, 1924, to Guy & Ethel Kesterson, she has been reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents, brothers and sisters; her loving husband, Archie Sheppard; son, Johnnie Sheppard; great granddaughter, Katelynn Hutson; and grandson, Mike Blankenship.
Those left to mourn her passing include her son, Rod Sheppard (Dorine); daughter Joyce Jones (Freddy); grandchildren, Cassidy Sheppard, Landen Sheppard, Amy Hutson (Chris), Greg Jones (Katie Delp), and Susan Duncan (Billy); brothers, Bobby Kesterson (Kim) of Dover, Delaware and Hanford Kesterson (Virginia) of Parrott, VA; great-grandchildren, Christopher Blankenship, Bradley Duncan, Logan Hutson, Emma Hutson and Vayanna Beagley; and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2011, from 5-8 pm at the New Hope Church of God, Mud Pike, Christiansburg. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011, at 2 pm at New Hope Church of God with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
