Earnest Henry ‘Sonny’ Hylton Jr., 69, of Christiansburg, passed away on October 1, 2014.
On November 30, 1944 he was born to the late Earnest Hylton Sr. and Ethel Flinchum Hylton. Sonny was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Akers Hylton; daughter, Angela Hylton-Felix and husband Jason, all of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Diamond Sustar and fiancé Jonathan McBride of Phoenix, AZ, and Wyatt John Felix of Christiansburg; sisters, Shirley Turpin, Ellen Hylton, and Frances Akers; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Horne Funeral Home.
