Earnestine Cecil

In loving memory of our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Earnestine Lane Cecil, 71 of Christiansburg, born October 30, 1942 and passed away November 17, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest L. Lane; brother, Jerry D. Lane; husband, Paul Cecil; daughter, Belinda McBride; grandson, Joshua Boley; and ex-husband, Robert McBride. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Lane; daughters, Patricia Cox and husband Randy, Donna McNeil and husband Richard, and Becky Linkous; grandchildren, Jonathan Linkous, Samantha McNeil, Matt Boley, Timmy McNeil, Brandon Dimas, Heather Cox, Jacob Cox, and Miranda Dimas; great-grandchildren, Haley Linkous, Danielle Linkous, Grace Linkous, Jonathan Linkous, and Colton Boley; as well as several special cousins and their families.

Mom was known by several names, Tenie, Earnie, Momma C., but she was best known for her service at Heritage Hall, where she worked for 20 years as a CNA.

Special thanks to Dr. Harry McCoy, Carilion Hospice, Nurse Heather, Volunteer Linda, Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital, Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Marie, Anna, Pat, Susan Kelley, Ronnie Smith, and Angie Hollins for all the love and care you gave Mom. As Mom always said - cry, compose and go on.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Farrah officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
