Edna V. ‘Jenny’ Crabtree Cooper, of Blacksburg, passed away 2 days shy of her 96th birthday on April 1, 2016.
Edna was a resident of Warm Hearth Village for 34 years and participated in the Kitchen Kettle Band there. She was born in Smythe County, VA, and graduated from Marion College. After college, she worked for several attorneys and real estate agencies in both Virginia and Tennessee. She also worked in Adult Basic Education and the Virginia Municipal League. Edna was a member of Eastern Star and St. Paul United Methodist Church and loved to travel the world.
She is survived by her nephew, Dr. Douglas D. Warren and wife Lydia; niece, Joyce Ellis and husband Chris; five great-nieces and nephews; 21 great-great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 10-11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Chapel, with Rev. Paul Song officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, VA.
