Edward Lee Lester

Edward Lee Lester, 72, of Blacksburg, formerly of Shawsville, passed away on October 4, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Lester; mother, Myrtle Martin Lester; grandfather, Oscar Lee Lester; grandmother, Ida Garlic Lester; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Edward is survived by his brother, Clifton Tommy Lester (Dana); sister, Nancy L. Eden (Jim Suter); nieces, Michelle Eden Vasu and Whitney Lester McNeil (Pete); as well as his girlfriend and best friend, Carolyn Davis, who stood by him throughout the four year battle with cancer.

Edward volunteered at the Lewis Gale Hospital. He helped many of his neighbors during his 26 years of living at Warm Hearth driving them to their doctors' appointments or taking them to shop. His love of God and his faith helped him through his battle with cancer.

The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layne Board officiating. Interment will follow in Den Hill Cemetery.
