Dr. Elizabeth Anne Yager

Beloved Mother and Doctor Elizabeth Anne Yager, 68, of Radford, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2020.
Elizabeth, “Beth”, was born to the late William and Anne Yager on February 16, 1952 in
Morristown, NJ. She lived an accomplished life that began when she completed her
undergraduate education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She then went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Nebraska in 1979. Dr. Yager served her internship, residency, and fellowship training in psychosomatic medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She was board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Elizabeth Yager was a highly-trained and qualified psychiatrist with expertise in all facets of her work, especially psychosomatic medicine. She had been in practice for over 35 years and
was serving patients at Carillon Clinic in Christiansburg, VA. She was acting as Assistant
Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Virginia Tech Carillon School of
Medicine. In 2016, Dr. Elizabeth Yager was Honorably Mentioned in the The Leading Physicians of the World as a Top Psychiatrist.
In her spare time, Elizabeth was passionate about her parrots, Clover and Willow, making jewelry, and visiting her grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by: her son Cody and wife Kathryn with grandchildren Owen and Evelyn; her brother William and wife Elizabeth, and her brother Peter and wife Doris; one niece and three nephews; as well as her pets: Willow and finches.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic sweeping the nation, a celebration of life ceremony will take place this summer and an announcement will be posted at that time. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Audubon Society.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her and provided friendship to Elizabeth during her final days.
