Ellis Frances Taylor, 84, of Blacksburg passed away September 30 at his home.
Ellis was a great loving man and would do anything for anyone. He always loved to go fishing, traveling and staying on the go. Ellis enjoyed going to church at New Hope Baptist Church. He loved his grandchildren and all their children.
He loved his wife! He met Margaret when they both worked for Singer Furniture on different lines. He would bring her Hershey bars. He would say he was ‘sweeting’ her up. He was a loving husband and always took care of his bride.
Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest & Illie Taylor; son, Martel Ellis Taylor; brothers, Bill, Herman, Jack & Bo Taylor; and sister, Ermadine Lipes.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Conner Taylor; daughter, Ann Marie Taylor; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Betty, Jean Price; brother, Ralph Eugene Taylor; step-daughter, Darlene Dalton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4 at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday October 5 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Douglas Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery.
