Elna E. Wilson

Monday, January 30, 2018, God looked on His servant and called her home to eternal rest.

Elna E. Wilson was born June 7, 1937, in McDowell County, WV. Later her family moved to Christiansburg (Cambria), in the mid-1950s. With an employment opportunity, Elna spent her early adult years working in New York. She returned to Christiansburg for a short while before making Washington, DC her home for 57 years. She retired from the National Institutes of Health after 28 years of dutiful service in 2004.

Elna was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson; and her brother, Winifred Ray Wiley.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, S. Teressa Carter; and son, Garry L. Wilson (Theresa), all of Maryland; two sisters, Faye Streeter (James) and Ivory Carter; as well as a devoted sister-in-law, Betty Wiley, all of Christiansburg, VA. Elna loved her 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 7 nephews. She was loved by a host of cousins, great-nephews and nieces, as well as her church family.

Services will be held on Saturday February 3, 2018 at Greater Mt. Zion UHC, 385 Depot St. Christiansburg, Va. Visitation begins 9:30 a.m., service immediately following at 10:30a.m. Officiant Bishop Anthony Tucker.
