Emmett Wilson Hosey

Emmett Wilson Hosey ‘Hobo’, 71, of Galax, VA, formerly of Mt. Airy, NC, completed his journey here on earth on July 23, 2018. Born on July 21, 1947, in Radford, VA, to the late Porter and Flossie Hosey, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Deliah; brothers, Charles, Earnest, Ira ‘Tootle’, and Ronald; half-brothers, George, Harless, and Julian; as well as an infant son.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Rebecca and partner Melissa; grandbabies, Addy, Lexi, Carston, Jayla, and Austin; the newest additions to ‘the circus’ great-grandbabies, Treylon and Hagan; best friends, Ronnie Breeden, Robert Corvin, and JoAnn Ellis; special niece, Becky Linkous and son Shane; and his hero and best buddy, Neil Edwards.

He made a difference in the lives of many and will be missed by all the family and friends that he made across the map as he done what he loved in that 18-wheeler.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 11 a.m. to noon at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at noon in the Chapel, with Rev. Russell Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at 638 Union Valley Road, Riner, VA.
