Ernest Robert “Bob” Adams, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2012.
He was born on April 25, 1930, to the late Ernest Wilburn Adams and Margaret Stone Adams. He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Adams; daughter-in-law, Lisa Adams; and brother, Donnie Adams.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Cheryl Adams; sons, Ernest Robert Adams, Jr. (Sarah), Ronnie Steven Adams (Tammy); daughter, Linda “Jibby” Robinson; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and special little babies, Teddy and Taylor.
Bob served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Virginia State Police after 36 years of service. He later worked for Tri City Security Company until 2007. Bob loved his family, gardening, animals, and working on cars.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, from 2-3 pm at Horne Funeral Home, with the memorial service to follow in the Chapel. Chaplain David Kent will officiate the memorial service.
