Etta Miles

MILES, ETTA BRITT, age 83, of Christiansburg, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was a retired employee of Montgomery Regional Hospital.

The daughter of the late John Daniel and Mary Jane Sites Britt, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Henry, Allen, Lacy, Frank and Archie Britt and a sister, Ella Caldwell.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-four years, Claude J. Miles, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Claude M., Jr. and Janice Miles, Riner, Gilbert and Judy Miles, Radford, J.D. and Donna Miles, Roanoke, Don and Robin Miles and Bill Miles, all of Christiansburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudette and Jim Burnette, Ruby and Harold Spencer, Henrietta and Charles Keister all of Christiansburg, Reba and Bob Smart, Check; sisters-in-law, Opal Spangler, Jo Ann Britt, Betty Britt, Martha Britt and Ann Wiley; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Monday at the Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19th, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shake Smith and Rev. Dwight Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
