Evelyn Ayers

November 28, 1910 — January 3, 2006

AYERS, EVELYN ROBINSON, age 95, of Christiansburg, surrounded by angels, our beloved Mother went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2006.

She was a graduate of Marion College and Radford College. She taught elementary school for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she cherished teaching Sunday School and playing the piano. Evelyn was a devoted mother, friend, and teacher and lived her life as an example of Christian love and obedience. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldred Herbert Robinson and Mary Alan Pierce Robinson; her husbands, Norville Edward Armbrister and Fred Lester Ayers; and an infant son, Edward Wayne Armbrister; brothers, Sam, Jim and Jake Robinson; her sisters, Kathleen Rosenbaum and Carrie Robinson and son-in-law, Kenneth ?Burt? Burton.

She leaves her children to cherish her memory, they are as follows, JoAnn & Stanley Miller; Terry & Sandra Armbrister; Molly & Mike Tilley; and Imogene Cooper Burton; sisters-in-law, Louise Robinson, Letha Andrews, and Mary Taylor; grandchildren, Ann Britts, Mark Britts, Jennifer Lucas, Allison Armbrister, Jonathan, Amy, Sarah and Mary Kate Tilley and Amanda Burton; great grandchild, Brandon Lucas.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6th, 2006 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg with Dr. David Goodpasture and Rev. Chuck McHose officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The Ayers Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
