Evelyn Burton

Burton, Evelyn Fizer (Granny), 92, of Christiansburg, VA, went to be with the Lord and her family on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Burton; sons, Ralph, Randolph, and Leroy Burton; brother, Mark Fizer; sisters, Ruby Martin and Mildred Hinkley; and grandson, Steve Burton.

She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Burton; son Robert Burton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Vernon Fizer; special friend, Freddie Burton, and many other family and friends.

She was a life-long seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. She was a very charitable person and the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Burton Family Cemetery.
