Everett Swanson Harris

September 12, 1931 — February 24, 2016

Everett Swanson Harris, 84, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Stella Harris; his wife, Lucille (Sissy) Harris; and siblings, Clay Junior Harris, Nina Cowfer, and Evelyn Martin. Everett was a long time employee of Volvo New River and loved retirement, splitting his time between his lawn, garden, tinkering with anything mechanical, and an occasional ‘cup of cheer’.

Everett is survived by his children, Linda Muscatello and husband Jay, Tony Harris and wife Angie; grandchildren, Dustin Harris, Paige Harris, Carie Muscatello, Rebecca Evans, Angela Pollock, Anthony Muscatello, Dylan Colley, and Krista Colley; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Pierce; and faithful companion, ‘Spunky’.

Everett proudly served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 through 1955. He was a member of the Moose Lodge since 1968, and a faithful member of Blue Ridge Church.

The Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 1-3 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Monday, February 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott Obenchain officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
