A light went out in this world on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and a new light lit up in heaven. Frances Ann Bower, of Christiansburg, was born on March 5, 1948, to the late Benjamin ‘Reed’ Hungate and Freda Kingrea Hungate. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Sue Nuckolls.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 38 years, Billy Bower; children, Gary Vest (Cindy), Tony Vest (Melissa), Kathy Storberg (Bill); brother, Carl Hungate (Brenda); devoted sisters, Gladys Dickerson (Terry) and Julia Kirkner; dearly loved grandchildren, Tyler, Jamey, Jordan, Hannah, Kaylee, Trapper, Zach; great-grandchild, Athena; in-laws, Audrey Bower, Martha Nash (Larry); and a host of other family and friends.
Frances never met a stranger and had a personality that was larger than life. She leaves a wealth of friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family that loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8, 2016, from 12-2 p.m. at Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m., with Rev. Craig Reed and Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery.
