Frances Shelton

Frances Hancock Shelton (87) of Christiansburg passed away Friday, January 4, 2013. She was preceded in her passing by her husband, William Raper Shelton; parents, Samuel and Guyda Hancock; great granddaughter, Aria Dean; and brother, Samuel Hancock, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Dean (Harry), Brandon, FL; and her son, W. Richard Shelton (Janice), Christiansburg, VA. She is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Pennington, Williamsburg, VA, and Sylvia Ellis, Amarillo, TX, in addition to seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her friend and caregiver, Iris Costigan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013, from 12 noon to 1:30 P.M. at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 P.M. Dr. Don Makin will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA.
