Frank Nile Greenlee of Newport, Virginia, passed away on November 25, 2021, at the age of 68. He carried music in his soul and a natural cheerfulness in his heart, and had a presence easily felt by all with the good fortune to have known him throughout his prolific life.
The son of Col. Halford and Jacqueline Greenlee, Frank was born in Egypt on February 28, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his older brothers, Halford R. Greenlee, Jason M. Greenlee and their children, in addition to many close friends who loved and cared for him as family as well.
Frank spent time from an early age exploring his love for music and interests in various intellectual and creative endeavors. He was a consummate guitarist and musician. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering. His love for electronics and music inspired him to created a studio in his home alongside his profession as an Engineer. Local friends and musicians appreciated Frank's excellent company and captivating conversations, while engaging often in creative endeavors together.
Frank's powerfully gentle and unwavering presence will be sorely missed but remembered fondly by all those who share in his love for him, with gratitude to have known and to celebrate this unique and precious life.
A celebration to honor Frank's life and memory will be organized and announced at a later date.
