PRATT, FRED “CLINTON”, age 68, of Christiansburg passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mullins and Alma Pratt, his brothers, Ivan, Hubert, Aldon, Melvin and Lenford Pratt; sisters, Wilma Hubbard and Christine Bower; brothers-in-law, Luther Buckner, Flem Poff, David Bower, Victor Nunley and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Jean Nunley.
Mr. Pratt served his country in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. He was retried from Monarch with over 22 years of service. He loved antique cars and doing odd jobs around the house. He had many friends and always had a smile on his face.
Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Violet N. Pratt; son Fred Clinton Pratt, II; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Jeff Warf and granddaughter, Brittany Warf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawton and Helen Pratt, Freeman and Rosie Pratt, Mary Pratt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Paul Gunter, Mary P. Buckner, Pauline Poff; brother-in-law, Gordon Hubbard and a multitude of nieces, nephews and other family and friends; brothers-in-law and spouses, Russell and Helen Nunley, Daniel and Elva Nunley, Ernest and Sandra Nunley, Larry and Diane Nunley; sisters-in-law and spouse, Betty and Buck Perry, Sue Bryant, Nancy Nunley.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1st in the Horne Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. James E. Walker with entombment in the Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
