Gary Peterson

Gary Frederick Peterson, 61 formerly of Shawsville, recently of Slidell, LA, passed away May 20, 2012. Gary was born in Washington, D.C., departed into a higher place at a mere 61 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Judy Peterson; sister, Cindy Peterson; two sons and a daughter; and nine grandchildren.
From his RV home in Slidell, La., Mr. Peterson had suffered from cardiac arrest and will be deeply missed as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and father-in-law.
At the age of 18, he married the love of his life, Judy Lynn Carrell, on January 25, 1969. Together they raised two sons and a daughter, Keith, Karen, and Kevin, in Stafford. Mr. Peterson lived to see eight grandchildren born and two fully raised.
He lived with his wife and his beloved English Springer Spaniel, Kaptain in an RV enjoying his retirement. He will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg from 9-11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., June 4, 2012 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John W. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Creasy Family Cemetery, Shawsville.
