Gary Zane Stanley

Gary Z. Stanley, April 6, 1951 - October 1, 2020, of Christiansburg Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his two sisters after a short illness of pneumonia and kidney failure. Born in Christiansburg Virginia, it was his home most of his 69 years. He was an electrician by trade, but could do almost anything. He loved fishing, hunting, working puzzles and gardening. He had a wicked sense of humor, and love joking with everyone. He never met a stranger.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Eugene A. and Louise Carden Stanley. He is survived by his sisters, April Stanley Clark and Nancy Stanley Wallace; and his only niece, Michelle D. Wallace. He is also survived by a special Aunt, Gilda McDaniel Carden; many cousins scattered across the country; and also his favorite beggar of treats, Jethro Cat.
Visitation will be Monday October 5, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will immediately follow in the Chapel with Pastor Porter Riner officiating. Interment will be private at a later time. Due to restrictions for Covid-19 Masks will be required as well as social distancing.
