Akers, Georgia Victoria, 96, of Pulaski, Va, passed away March 26, 2009. Victoria was born on February 22, 1913.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hampton Akers and her sister, Alice R. Robinson. She is survived by a daughter; Sue A. Conrad, of Claytor Lake, a son; Charles R. (Randy) Akers and his wife, Brenda, of Roanoke, 5 grandchildren; Don D. and Gloria Conrad, Jr. of GA, Jeff and Zoe Akers, of NY, Kelly and Nickie Akers, of GA, Jason and Lisha Akers, NC, Jenny and Carlton Fraley, of Blacksburg, VA; 4 great grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Conrad, GA, Mack and Declan Ford, NC; sister, Lydia R. Akers, of Radford, Va; 2 half sisters, Betty Old, of Salem, Va, Katie Woolwine, of SC; 1 half brother, Tom Reynolds, of Roanoke, Va. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 1-2 p.m at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday March 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Collins officiating, interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
