Goldean Burke Francis

Laura Rebecca Goldean Burke Francis of Riner was called home on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at the age of 89.

Goldean was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Francis; her parents, Sherman and Trula Burke; her sister, Delores Robinnette; and her daughter, Deborah Francis. She is survived by her sons, Gary (and Brenda) Francis and Isaac Shane Francis; grandchildren, Sharon (and Tom) Zuckerwar and Steven (and LeeAnn) Francis; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Alex Zuckerwar. She is also survived by her siblings, Leroy (and Linda Burke), Roberta Varney and Billy Ray Burke; and many nieces and nephews and other family members that she adored.

Goldean was born on March 3, 1928 in Pike County, Kentucky and lived in Turkey Creek. She spent her early years as a teacher and loved spending time painting, quilting and making sock monkeys. She was devoted to her family and loved her many animals.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 4, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, with a Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Huddy, KY on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Goldean’s life.
