Gordon Edward Bowen, 67, of Blacksburg, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012.
Gordon was retired from Great Dane Trailers in Savannah, GA, after 36 years of employment. He loved to hunt and travel, but most of all he loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Lloyd & Theradosie Mason Bowen; sisters, Audrey Hevican, Linda Barkameyer, Cora Hodges and Katherine Garritsen; and brother, James Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Bowen; children, Ronnie (Trisha) Bowen, Steve (Sherry) Bowen, and April (Dave) Baumann; step-daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Moore; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 5-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18th at 11 am at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
