On September 18, 2014, Grover Cleveland Ford went home to be with the Lord.
He was born October 8, 1943, in Pulaski to the late Grover C. Ford II and Virginia Cox Ford.
Grover worked as a mechanic and truck driver and was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his son Troy. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Riner, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean; son, Troy Ford and wife Cindy; daughter, Trena Quesenberry and husband Patrick; granddaughters, Priscilla Ford, Kimberly Ford, and Nataleigh Quesenberry; grandsons, Conner Quesenberry and Grayson Quesenberry. Also surviving are five siblings, Roger Ford (Martha) of Chatham, VA, Joyce Phillips (James) of Dublin, VA, Gary Ford of Christiansburg, VA, Ruth Akers (Buddy) of Lawton, OK, and Brenda McGuyer (Donald) of Christiansburg, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews, of whom he was very fond.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 4-6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3795 Surface Road, Riner, VA, with Pastor James Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
