Harless Benson Duncan, 83, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012, at Skyline Manor in Floyd, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Clayton Duncan; and mother, Lola P. Duncan; his wife of 50 years, Christine Smith Duncan; brothers, Oden L. Duncan, Cereal C. Duncan, and Samuel E. Duncan.
He is survived by his daughter, Rita Gale Duncan; grandsons, James Duncan, Steven Williams and Cody Biggs; great-granddaughter, Wanda Renee Biggs; brothers, Arvil C. Duncan & wife Barbara, J. Ralph Duncan and B. Rudolph Duncan; a sister, F. Elizabeth Sowers; brothers-in-law, Rudolph Smith & wife Sarah, Bob Smith & wife Elizabeth, Steve Smith & wife Dorothy; sister-in-law, Jean Akers; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a longtime member of the Edgemont Christian Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, 1951-1953. He was a truck driver for many years after service.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, from 5-7 pm at Horne Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm in the Chapel. Rev. Peter Anderson and Rev. Bobby Sutphin will officiate the memorial service.
