HALE, HAZEL RATCLIFFE ?Peggy?, age 75, of Elliston, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem.
She was the daughter of the late Jessie James and Elise Woolwine Ratcliffe. She was also preceded in death by husband, Sherman J. Hale; brother, David Samuel Ratcliffe; sister, Mary Della Taylor.
She is survived by her first husband, P. P. Sweeney, her children and their spouses, Michael & Joyce Sweeney, Elliston; Patricia & Greg Gunter, Hardy; Linda & David Atkinson, Shawsville; Tracy & Jeff Loving, Radford; Sharon & Charlie Womack, Christiansburg; Lisa & Darron McNeil, Elliston; 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 9 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Bonn officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shawsville Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 14, Shawsville, VA 24162. The Hale Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
