Helen Cleora Capobianco, age 97 of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, November 21 at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a short illness.
Helen was born in Fostoria, Ohio in 1925 to Maurice and Florence Huffman, one of four children.
She graduated from Waite High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and later became an Army Corp nurse and an OR nurse at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
She married Nicholas Capobianco (deceased 2000) in 1957 and became a homemaker. They moved to Virginia and raised five children.
She is survived by her sister Ina, children, Doug (Debra), Maurice (Sharon), Toni (Dale), Annette (Darrell) and son Nick. Grandchildren, Nicole (John), Shauna (Brian), Stephen, Kayla and T.J., and three great grandchildren, Ady, Karsyn and Cameron.
The family would like to thank the staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the Spring.
