DOUGLAS, HELEN DORCAS "DOT", age 88, formerly of Blacksburg, VA, passed away at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA, on Wednesday, June 29th, 2005.
Born April 25, 1917, Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Maggie Richardson, her husband, Robert "Bob" Douglas, her sisters, Gertrude Kirk and Lillian Douglas and a brother, William Richardson.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Gordon Arch of Midlothian, Rita and Edward Marston, Smithfield, two especially dear grandsons, Rob Barricklow and his wife, Rebecca, of Richmond, and Wesley Early of Smithfield, and the delight of her latter years, her great-granddaughters, Mary Warren and Ann Turner Barricklow of Richmond. The family wishes special thanks to Molli Lewis who gave loving care and friendship to our mom and Nanny during the last month.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, July 1st, at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2nd, at the graveside in North Fork Cemetery in Ellett.
