LINKOUS, HELEN SAVILLE, 99, died Saturday, December 11, 2004, at the Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cary, N.C.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Henrietta Saville. She was born in Montgomery County, Virginia in 1905 and grew up in the Sunnyside Community. She graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1925 and from Radford State Teachers College with a teacher's certificate in 1926. She taught school until her marriage to Oakley Wade Linkous, who preceded her in 1976. She lived in Montgomery County all of her adult life until moving to Cary, NC in 2002 to be in the care of her two daughters. She enjoyed homemaking and gardening.
Mrs. Linkous is survived by daughters, Pauline Jennelle and husband, Ernest of Raleigh, NC; Etta Carter and husband, Donald of Cary, NC; son, Theodore Linkous of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, Geneva Thornhill and Clara Mullins and nephews, Harry, Donald and Roger Saville. Special nieces are Anna Lee Jones, Carolyn Linkous and Dolly Vest. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14th at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, VA.
