Miller, Sr., Howard George, 84, of Christiansburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
He was one of 11 siblings. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from the Radford Arsenal and Virginia Tech after many years of employment.
Howard is survived by his wife Doris of 63 years; 3 children, son, Howard Miller, Jr. and wife Barbara of Roanoke, son, Edward Miller, Sr. and wife Jean of Christiansburg, and daughter Linda Poff and husband Phillip of Riner. He was also survived by 3 grandchildren, Lisa St.Clair and husband Brad of Riner, Eddie Miller, Jr. and wife Jessica of Riner, and Cristy Collins and husband Joshua of Christiansburg; 3 great grandchildren, Elijah St.Clair, Carter St.Clair and Emmy Collins; and 3 sisters, Opal McDaniel of Pilot, Agnes Blevins of Roanoke, and Margie Gray of Roanoke.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Sloss and Rev. Joshua Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
