Irene Ellen Teel Hodges

Irene Ellen Teel Hodges went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10th, 2018 at Lewis-Gale Hospital Montgomery. Born June 22nd, 1940 in Floyd, Virginia, Irene was a loving wife, mother and a devoted friend to many. For much of her life, Irene enjoyed to spend her time traveling, participating in the Red Hat Society, going to church, and being with her family.

Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 63 years, Buster Lee Hodges; children, Clifton Ray Hodges, Connie Gordon and husband Jay, Bernie Hodges and wife Sonia; granddaughters, Ashley Tucker and fiancé Kevin Tolley, Chelsea Hartman and husband Zack, Shaylee Hodges, Anna Hodges; great-grandchildren, Destiny Tucker, Caleb Hodges; brother, Donald Ray Teel; special friend, Diane Scott; numerous loving in-laws, nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Weston. Irene was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Duncan Teel, her father, Fred Edgar Teel, and her brother, Leonard Edgar Teel.

Family will receive friends for visitation at Horne Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. and will be conducted by Pastor Ed Gallimore, a faithful friend to Irene and her husband Buster. Burial will take place following the service at Sunset Cemetery.
