J. Steven Simpkins

J. Steven Simpkins, age 60 of Wilmington, DE passed away at home on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was the husband of Kari Plattner Simpkins whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Born in Christiansburg, VA, the son of James & Iris Woods Simpkins of Christiansburg, where he grew up until 1961. He graduated from McKean High School in Wilmington, DE. He worked for Wilmington Sheet Metal as a rigger/foreman. He received an extreme mechanical gifting from his maternal grandfather, the late Sidney Woods of Cambria. His desire to help people came from his maternal grandmother, Verna Cupp Woods who cared for so many needs in Cambria. He was a freemason from Jackson Lodge 19 of Delaware City, DE.
He was also survived by his brother S. Dale husband of Elyse Simpkins of West Grove, PA their 4 children, his nephews, nieces and their spouses, and their 12 children, his great-nephews and nieces.
A private graveside service will be held in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg on Saturday May 1st at 11:00 a.m.
