Jackie Minnick

Minnick, Jackie Wayne, Sr., 69, of Christiansburg, passed away December 9, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Minnick was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Arlie Minnick; brother, Donald (Buck) Minnick; and sister, Shelby Thompson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathryn A. Minnick; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Tina Minnick, Pilot, Va; son, Randolph Minnick, Christiansburg, Va; daughters, Robin Barker, Christiansburg, Va, Vanessa Minnick, Warm Springs, Va, Cheryl Minnick and Bobby Pettus, of Christiansburg, Va. Also surviving are seven grandsons, Craig, Scotty, Matthew, Michael, Bobby, Daniel, and McCally; special great grandson and his mother, Austin and Michelle; brother and sister-in-law; Lynwood (Shorty) and Nannie Minnick; sister-in-law, Eloise Minnick; brother-in-law, Kenneth Thompson, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ruby Altizer, of Jacksonville, Fl, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Minnick was well known thru his generosity with wrecker service, flea market and his love of racing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday in the Altizer-Owen's cemetery with Rev. Bobby Martin officiating.
