Cooper, James Allen, 63, of Blacksburg, VA departed his life on Wednesday evening February 17, 2010 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was a son of late Minnie Lee Cooper and Omar Johnson Cooper. He was preceded in death by his infant son.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Gladys Cooper, of Blacksburg, VA; one brother, Don Cooper, of Christiansburg, VA; two sisters, Betty Brewster, of Lindside, WV and Peggy Semernecki, of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Marlene Cox, of Blacksburg, VA Gloria Smith, of Blacksburg, VA, Martha Smith, of Blacksburg, VA, and Erma Whitlock, of Christiansburg, VA; special friend, Wayne Criner, of Blacksburg, VA; his special pet, Baby.
The family would like to thank Vicki Foreman and the staff of Carilion Hospice of Radford.
The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home, 12p.m.-2p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Horne Funeral Home Chapel, Christiansburg, VA., with Pastor Merle Hendrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley.
