James Monroe Foster Jr.

James Monroe Foster, Jr. 69, of Christiansburg VA, passed away on December 7, 2023. Formally of Portsmouth VA. He was born on September 23, 1954 to the late James Foster Sr. and Virginia Foster.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Foster; sisters, Carol Darden and Brenda Brinkley and her husband Ronnie; brother, Milton Foster; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins; and his four-legged companion, Riggins.
James attended Fredrick Military Academy and then later went to college at Viriginia Military Institute. He was an avid sports lover with his favorite teams being Viriginia Tech, VMI, and Washington Commanders.
He also enjoyed reading, he was a history buff and especially enjoyed military history. He had a big personality and loved telling jokes to his friends and family. He often times would give gifts, with gag gifts being his favorite to give out. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 500 Court St Portsmouth VA.
