James (Pete) Louis Miles

Pete Miles was a simple man and a U.S. Veteran. He retired from Virginia Dept of Transportation after 36 years of service to the commonwealth but then built several homes for many people around the area. Born on February 26, 1936 in Christiansburg, Virginia to Martha Reed and Jim Miles. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou on October 19, 1957. He is proceeded in death by his Mother, Father, only son Joe, grandson Jason and sister Barbara Duncan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Lou, grandson, Justin (Tessa & Brianna), Daughter-in-law Suzy (special friend John), brother Charles “Bo” Miles (Barbara), sister Phyllis Sumner (Archie) and sister-in-law Shelby Starling of Florida, also several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special pup Tipsy. The family would also like to give many thanks to his caregiver Judy and all of the nurses and doctors for their care and compassion. His wishes were not to have any service or funeral. The family asks that if anyone would like to make a donation those donations be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice of the New River Valley.
