James E. “Jimmy” Roberts, 69 of Christiansburg, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013, due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Annie Jennelle Roberts; his wife, Donna Proco Roberts; grandson, William Edward Roberts, Jr.; and brothers, Richard Roberts and Junior Roberts. He is survived by his children, William Edward “Billy” Roberts, Sr. and wife Kim of Orlando, FL, and Carolyn Roberts Masinsky and husband Gerry of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Olivia Donna Roberts, Levi James Roberts, and Logan Shea Masinsky; brothers, David Roberts and wife Charlotte and Bobby Roberts; sisters, Ruth Ann Brillhart and Francis Roberts.
Jimmy was the owner/operator of Christiansburg Electrical and Plumbing. He enjoyed woodworking and built custom furniture, flying model airplanes and gardening, especially canning tomatoes. Most of all Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank Earl and Phyllis Alderman, Jean Poff, and Rosalee Bishop for all of their help and support.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
