James Noblin Roberts, 84, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
He was a man of Christian faith and a member of Riverview Holiness Church for over 57 years, where he served as a deacon. Noblin was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nelly Paulene Wells; sons, Jerry Roberts and Danny Roberts; devoted daughter-in-law, Tammy Roberts; and granddaughter, Melissa Alls. He leaves behind his wife, Exer Vada Dickerson Roberts; sons, Larry and Hope Roberts and Timmy and Janet Roberts; daughters, Norma and Michael Bamber, Donah and Larry Sutherland, and Diane Roberts; step-children, Kenny and Wilma Dickerson and Kathy and Mike Edwards; grandchildren (his light), Kurt, Cory, Angie, Charlie, Tracie, Travis, Jimmy, Christy, Ashley, Carrie, Amanda, Danielle, Tabatha, Page, Travis, Deanna, and Kimberly; 23 great-grandchildren to count the stars by; as well as siblings, Hoover (Sadie), Faye, Peggy (Jay), Cookie (Mike), Brenda (Bobby), and Nancy. He is and will always be missed.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ellis Meredith, Rev. Jason Meredith, and Rev. Steve Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
