James Robert Troutt, 74, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away at Heritage Hall, Blacksburg, VA on Saturday, December 9, 2023. He will be missed but is at rest now. He was born in Bedford, VA on January 29, 1949 to the late Robert Nelson and Alice Estelle Shephard Troutt. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Irene E. Troutt Slusser Vaughn and Jerry Vaughn.
He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Thompson Troutt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Pam Troutt of Vine Grove, KY, Dwayne and Brenda Troutt of Floyd County, VA, Harry and Brenda Troutt of Dunnellon, FL, Luther Troutt; brothers-in-law, Gary Thompson, Karen and Doug Gilmore, and Keith and Beverly Hawley all of Christiansburg, VA; half-sister, Rita Bradbury (Robert), many nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, along with Bass Clubs members he knew.
James worked at Burlington Mills (later known as NRI) in Radford, as a smash hand for 35 years. His hobby was fishing in Bass Clubs starting with Old Virginia Bass Club and ending with Black Hollow Bass Masters. He dearly loved to fish when he was not working. He also loved to hang out at the shooting range with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be on May 25, 2024 at Claytor Lake Pavilion #2 starting at noon with an all day celebration.
