Jane Carson Hall, 86, of Christiansburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29th, 2024 after a brief illness, with family members at her side. Mabel Jane Carson was born on March 3, 1938 in Pulaski, Virginia to Annie Johnson Carson and Richard Griggs Carson. Jane attended Longwood University and built an impressive career at Corning, where she served as Controller of the industry-leading Corning Optical Fiber Plant. Her professional journey took her from Blacksburg, VA to Raleigh, NC, and finally to Wilmington, NC, where she made significant contributions to the company's success.

Jane's passion for sports was legendary, particularly her love for basketball. She was not only a star player herself but remained a devoted fan of both the UNC Tarheels and Virginia Tech Hokies throughout her life. When not cheering on her favorite teams, Jane could often be found enjoying time at the beach with her family or exploring the roads in one of her beloved Jeeps. Known for her humble nature and selfless spirit, Jane possessed a heart of gold and showed boundless empathy for others. In recent years, she found great joy in the companionship of her son Randy, with whom she shared a special bond, and their faithful furry friend, Ficklen.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Johnson Carson and Richard Griggs Carson; her sister Frances Carson Spain and brother-in-law Jack Lankford Spain; her former husband Paul Donald Hall; her beloved partner Ronald Kerner; her aunts Sara Carson, Virginia Carson Morehead, Mildred Carson Bennett (Leonard Bennett), and Margaret (Louise) Johnson; and her uncles Paul Johnson and Samuel Johnson. She is survived by her devoted son, Randall Hall; nephews Jack Spain Jr. and Richard Spain; niece Jayne Spain Beachler (Tom Beachler); grandnephews and nieces Lucy Spain, Sara Beachler Jasper (Thomas Jasper), Marci Spain, and Austin Beachler (Taylor Satterfield Beachler); and great-grandnephews and nieces Olivia Watson, Isabelle Beachler, Perry Jasper, Sophia Beachler, Anne Jasper, and Owen Beachler.

Jane's guiding light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for family will be remembered for generations to come. The family will be planning a private "Celebration of Life" to commemorate the eternal impact on her extended family members.
