Jean Trump, age 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 2, 1940, in Christiansburg, Virginia, she lived a life of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Molly McGuyer; siblings, Luther, Lowell, and Dorthy; her beloved husband, Ed Trump Sr.; son, Eddie Trump Jr.; and several cherished family members and friends.
Jean is survived by her children, Kathy Harvey, Debbie Akers, Shelby (Donald) Main, and Jerry Trump (Sue Williams), as well as Eddie Trump Jr.’s wife, Paulette Trump. She was a proud grandmother to Bobby Trump, Devin Trump, Dr. Troy (Nancy) Akers, Brittany (Michael) Lee, Amber Ogle, Aaron (Adaline) Harvey, Naomi (Robbie) Campbell and a beloved great-grandmother to Mollie and Laney Akers, Guy Trump, Emsley, Avery, Maelyn Ogle, and Remington Campbell.
Lovingly known as “Granny,” Jean was a dedicated member of the Christiansburg Auxiliary, honorary Christiansburg Rescue Squad member and served as a compassionate nurse for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose home was always filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Her kindness, strength, and generosity touched many lives.
She leaves behind many dear family members and friends, with special gratitude to Linda Robinson, Jennifer Zimmerman, Loretta Underwood, James Hoover and Steve and Jennifer Martin.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Roanoke, Virginia, for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 11, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 at Horne Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel where loved ones will gather to honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Springs Union Church or Good Samaritan Hospice House in her honor.
Jean will be deeply missed but forever remembered, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.
