Jerry Eastridge

Jerry Eastridge, a lifelong resident of Virginia, died unexpectedly on December 17th 2021 at the age of 69 from complications of Covid.

Jerry was born in Lenoir, NC to Claude and Mamie Eastridge. He lived in many towns in Virginia, frequently moving due to his Dad being a pastor. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1976 with a degree in Landscape Architecture and worked as a landscape architect, energy professional, and entrepreneur throughout his life. He welcomed his two handsome sons, Shawn and Ryan, who were, beside God, the most important part of his life. On July 4th 2009, he married Mary, an OB nurse, midwife and the love of his life.

Jerry was a devoted father and loved anything Virginia Tech Hokie! Attending and cheering at football games were one of the highlights to his year. Jerry’s other passion was politics and worked tirelessly to further the conservative movement in Montgomery County and Virginia. To know Jerry was to know he could and would talk with anyone about his passions: Hokie football, Conservative politics and the Lord. Among Jerry’s other interests were playing guitar and he was an accomplished artist, drawing beautifully. He was known by all as always being cheerful, upbeat and positive.

Above all, Jerry’s spirituality and love for the Lord was supreme in his life. He was involved in many churches throughout his life, being a member of the worship team, a bible study leader, and a church Deacon. His passion for studying the Bible was well known to his family and friends, having a specific interest in learning about heaven. To say that Jerry was excited about entering heaven, would have been an understatement. Heaven was his life’s goal! One might find peace in knowing that Jerry has accomplished his most important goal and true heart’s desire.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Shawn and Ryan, his wife Mary, his sisters, Sherry and Tina and his grandson, Rory. He is predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Alton and Carroll.

A funeral service is scheduled for Sat, Jan 15, 2022 at 5:00 pm, at Grace Life Baptist Church, 1640 Peppers Ferry Rd NW, Christiansburg, VA. A reception will follow at the church. Flowers may be delivered to the church address on Sun, the 16th. The church will be closed on Friday & Sat.
