Jerry Allen Epperly, born on February 21, 1941, was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend whose spirit touched many lives during his remarkable journey. He departed this world on February 3, 2025 leaving behind a legacy with love, camaraderie, and unwavering support for his family.
A proud military man, Jerry dedicated 21 years of his life to the Army and the National Guard, honoring his country with distinguished service. His commitment to both duty and family exemplified the values he held dear, as he remained a steadfast supporter and the biggest fan of his grandchildren during any sports season they engaged in, nurturing their talents with his encouraging presence.
Jerry's heart found warmth in the laughter and joy shared with his daughters, Donna Altizer and her husband Mark, and Stacy Harris and her husband Chester. They, along with the light of his life—his grandchildren: Dalton Altizer and his fiance Brittany, Brady Harris, and Abagail Harris—made his days brighter and filled his life with boundless joy. He is further survived by his beloved furbaby, Daisy, who provided him with companionship and love. His circle of affection extended to numerous nieces and nephews and cherished National Guard buddies, with whom he shared camaraderie and unforgettable memories.
In the tapestry of his life, there remains an indelible mark left by his loving wife of over forty years Bonnie Epperly, his parents, Thurman Epperly and Lena Huffman Epperly, and his siblings—brothers Russell Hylton, Albert Hylton, Asia Hylton, Charlie Epperly, Dewey Epperly, Junior Epperly, Clarence Epperly, and sisters Shirley Epperly, Evelyn Walters, Beulah Nunley, and Ellen Spinelloa—who precede him in death. Their love and teachings continue to resonate within the family, shaping the values that Jerry embraced throughout his lifetime.
