Jesse James Collop, 40 of Roanoke, passed away on November 23, 2022.
Jesse was born on December 15, 1981 to Jim and Beth Collop. He is also survived by his sister, Jennifer Collop Nassar (George); nephews, Lucas Nassar and Josiah Nassar; grandmothers, Sarah Collop and Patricia Oliver; aunt, Nancy Collop Rader (Craig); uncles, John Olilver (Mona), Chris Collop, Michael Collop (Niki); as well as many great-aunts and uncles and cousins; and best friend, Danielle Parker.. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Collop and Marvin Oliver.
Jesse graduated from His Royal Christian Academy in Florida in 2000. He went on to graduate with AA degrees from Lake-Sumter Community College, Leesburg, FL in Computer Animation, Fine Art and Photography and Graphic Design, as well as Psychology. He went on to Valencia Community College and the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neurology and Child Psychology, as well as graduating from Nova Southeastern University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. He obtained his State of Virginia Professional Counselor license in 2021 and worked as a psychologist for Carilion Clinic from July 2021 until November 2022, which he dearly loved the crew he worked with in the ER.
Jesse loved his cats, his home, his family and friends, but he loved his Lord Jesus Christ the most. He had many passions – being a barista at Starbucks, working for Disney, movies, cooking, and traveling.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. at The Dwelling Place, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mitch Semones officiating.
