Jody Stuart

July 5, 1940 — August 27, 2011

STUART, Jody Karen, 71 of Christiansburg, went to heaven to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2011.

She was born on July 5, 1940 in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father; Ethel Mae Craig Stuart Shockley and Delmon Ervin Shockley and father; Samuel Marvin Stuart, her brother; Richard Stuart, Sr., and sister; Sybil Kay Craig.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Jason Walter and Danielle Oldroyd; three granddaughters, Madelyn, Camdyn and Kyli all of Gillett, PA; a brother and his wife, Samuel and Anita Stuart, Moses Lake, Washington; two half brothers, Sherman Shockley and Marvin Eugene Stuart, both of Pulaski; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers, Church family, loving friends and special friends, Roxanne Bond, Rosa Lee Bishop and Betty Moore.

She was a member of New Hope Church of God for twenty years and was the caretaker of the beautiful flower beds.

We want to say a special thank you to all of her Church family, and doctors and staff of Blue Ridge Cancer Center and Carilion Hospice of the New River Valley for their loving care.

The family will receive friends at The New Hope Church of God on 1404 Mud Pike Road on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 5 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Thornspring Cemetery in Pulaski.
