John Barnett, 83, of Christiansburg, Virginia, passed away on August 23, 2024. John grew up with a love for the outdoors, animals, and playing sports like baseball and football.

He joined the United States Air Force in 1959, where he was stationed in Japan. After his service, John lived in Chicago before returning to Virginia. Upon return to Virginia he married Sara, and they shared a deep bond throughout his life. John earned his bachelor degree from Virginia Tech in 1973.
