John William Martin, 77, of Fancy Gap, VA, passed away on August 18, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edith Martin. He is survived by his wife Diane S. Martin; daughter, Amanda K. Felts; and grandchildren, Brent M. Webb and Channin Felts.
John was a 35 year supporter of his wife’s activities at Fancy Gap United Methodist Church and a member of the Bible study at the Church. His hobbies were history, chess, books, movies, football, and especially music. He was a retired Professor of Music at Miami-Dade Community College.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Fancy Gap United Methodist Church, 578 Old Appalachian Trail, Fancy Gap, with Rev. Maria Grimm officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in John’s memory to the Civil War Trust, 1140 Professional Ct, Hagerstown, MD 21740 ( www.civilwar.org ) or to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L. Street, NW, Washington DC 20037 ( www.humanesociety.org ).
