John Durwood (J.D.) Worrell

John Durwood Worrell (J.D.), 81 of Christiansburg, passed away July 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen J. and Myrtle V. Worrell; and son, Ricky L. Worrell.
J.D. is survived by his loving wife, Trudie Worrell; sons, Donald Worrell (Renee), Ronald Worrell (Ginger); grandchildren, Michaela Johnston, Karli Worrell, Ethan Worrell (Sarah), Tanner Worrell; great-grandchildren, Annysyn Johnston, Carter Johnston, Trace Johnston, Oliver Worrell, Honeymae Worrell. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Lee Worrell (Barbara), Terri St.Claire (Roger); and brothers and sisters-in-laws, Luther Spencer (Willie Mae), Butch Yates (Shirley).
J.D. retired from Sunset Cemetery. He was a member of Auburn Baptist Church since 1974. J.D. enjoyed woodworking and small engine repair.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their care of J.D.
Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services are Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Auburn Baptist Church, with Pastor Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
