Joseph Huston ‘Joey’ Stump, 60, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Joey had a love of family and his dogs. He was the farm manager for Teel Farms, and attended New Hope Church of God. He was a former member of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Irene Stump; father-in-law, Walter W. ‘Bill’ Baker; brother-in-law, Delvis Elmore; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Jones Stump.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife and best friend, Alice Stump; daughter, Brooke Logan Stump and fiancé Matthew Nowlin; mother-in-law, Charlotte Baker; brothers and sister, Charlie Stump (Pat), Jerry Stump (Hope), Neal Stump, Ronnie Stump (Carolyn), Barbara Elmore; loving nieces and nephews, Lisa Fulcher, Shawn Stump, Samantha Morris, Beth Lucas, Deborah O’Brien, Amy Williams, Rebekah Stump, Amanda Stump, Matthew Elmore, Caleb Stump, Zachary Stump, Nathaniel Stump. Also left to cherish his memory are special nephew, Chad Stump (Rebekah); special furry companions, Maddie, Max, and Bailey; as well as other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at New Hope Church of God. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Church of God, with Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
