Josephus Stagg

Josephus “Joe” Stagg, 83, of Blacksburg, VA, passed away and went to heaven on Monday, November 7, 2011, from a heart attack.
He was born in Floyd County on April 30, 1928, but lived most of his life in Merrimac, Blacksburg, VA. He retired from Blue Ridge Overalls Co. in Christiansburg.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joe Jessie Stagg and Mary Jane (Janney) Stagg.
Joe was a wonderful man and always had a smile on his face. He was kind-hearted and had a gentle spirit. He loved his home at Warm Hearth and was thankful to all his friends who cared for him.
Joe did not have any surviving family members, but he had one very special friend, Shirley Schoeman, who loved him dearly and cared for him the last years of his life.
An offering of last respects will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, from 12-2 pm at the Horne Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 2 pm at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060, in memory of Joe.
